Air Conditioning Repair Tips: When you have a big air conditioning problem - like an air conditioner that quits during the hottest day of summer - it goes without saying that you'll call for service. Smaller air conditioning problems are easier to ignore, but this is the last thing you should do. By calling for service as soon as you notice the symptoms of an ailing cooling system you can prevent the expense and inconvenience of a big repair job. You'll also avoid the higher utility bills that typically accompany a poorly functioning air conditioning system. You should have your air conditioner checked when you notice any of the following symptoms: Decreased air flow from the registers; Strange noises coming from the air conditioner; Moldy odors coming from the ductwork when the air conditioner is running; The air conditioner cycles on and off more frequently than it used to; The breaker for the air conditioner in the electrical panel keeps tripping (or the fuse keeps blowing); Ice appears on your air conditioner or piping, either inside or outside the house; Your outdoor fan in the air conditioner won't come on. If you notice any of the above symptoms, call us today to have your air conditioning checked and serviced to avoid larger problems down the road
Why do mosquitoes not bite when you sleep in air conditioning? Mosquitoes find bodies to bite when they detect a current of air containing the CO2 and odorants that mark a warm-blooded body. They fly into the current until they reach the source of the odors. If you are in an air-conditioned room 1) The air is circulating and the mosquitoes will have a hard time pinpointing your location. 2) The windows are probably closed so they won't be able to get into your home in the first place 3)The mosquitoes generally love warm and humid weather and when you have put your AC, its generally less warmer than the surrounding areas and hence mosquitoes stay away from your room.

This guide focuses on split-systems, as these are the most popular type of air conditioner in India. Types of air conditioner Split-system: These have two parts: an outdoor compressor unit and an indoor unit connected by pipes. They're usually used to cool one or more rooms, or an open-plan area, of up to 60 square metres. This can be a good way to cool or heat two or three rooms that are reasonably close together, when separate split-systems or a ducted system aren't possible due to space limitations. Ducted: The best option for temperature control throughout a large home, this consists of a central unit connected by ducts to air outlets and sensors in each room, with a control panel to set the target temperatures and the zones of the house to cool or heat. See our separate ducted air conditioner buying guidefor more details. Price range: 75000+ Wall/window: These models are usually installed in a window or external wall, and can cool rooms and open-plan areas of up to 50 square metres. Smaller units can be plugged into a normal power point; larger ones may require additional wiring. We don't currently include these models in our reviews, because there are fewer on the market now, as split-systems are more efficient and have become more affordable in recent years. Having decided on the general type, you also need to think about whether to go for an inverter model, and whether you want both cooling and heating, or cooling only.
